In the beginning SiN was a small group of hardcore dedicated creeps, most could run through Isen with their eyes closed, missing all the agro, kill a gold farmer or two while Sokar tanked the CG(Ok I made the part about Sokar uptongue ). But lately SiN members have been dropping like 2k Minstrels farming in Isen, so time to try something different.

Phase 1 : Recruiting Target is 50+ active creeps in the next 8-12 weeks

Will start by posting on the official forums looking for new members, will also focus on getting creeps from other servers to join as a lot of creeps are looking for a new home. I'll also float the idea of E being the unofficial PvMP server. E as the unofficial server? You’ve gone mad Bro I hear you say! Well after playing on 3 other servers plus reading the forums and talking to defectors it seems E is one of the busiest for PvMP so why not call shotgun on E being the unofficial server.

There will be a minimum rank(TBC) requirement for creeps currently on E joining SiN, and for migrating creeps they can use there old rank when applying.

Core requirements for joining SiN
Will post them soon…

Phase 2: Guerrilla Warfare

Solid tactics work plain and simple no mater if it's a 2 raids of freeps sitting out the front of grams creeps can still get kills. We’ll put together a light weight tactics guide with keep principles. This will evolve overtime and everyone will have input into how we operate.

Overall SiN will focus on small groups of 6-8 that will use their mobility(getting all your maps is a high priority) to pick off freeps in raids and camp key areas etc.

Some nice info on Guerrilla Warfare

Phase 3: More Recruiting Target is 70+ active members
According to the lore the creeps need to out number the freeps to be competitive, so let give the freeps a taste of Turbine’s lore!

If all goes according to plan Turbine should nerf us in book 14 after crushing all the freeps spirits on E.

Note : none of our current members will be kicked even if you’re not a hardcore creeps as we have a great group of people currently and I'd be sad to lose any more player. Going forward we’ll only be inviting ‘dedicated’ creeps. Presently I think we’re about 30% dedicated 70% social(for use of a better term) I’d like to get this back to 80/20.

Its very rare that we get a fellow vs fellow battle, where skill and tactics determine the victore. Usually its just the get ganked by zerg fest.

This has become even harder now with less and less Sinners on at any one time. I'd like it if whenever we have a few members on that they run their own raid. Open raids are crap full of noobs that no one has ever heard of. Its time to get elite, form up and go to WAR!

I just got a new mic so i'll be on vent more often and when we're running in a group we'll switch to the SiN channel. I know the other night we had a small group that fought another small group of freeps that was incredibly fun! Unfortunately we werent communicating on vent {mainly my fault} and focusing on the right targets. From now on whenever im on i'll be on vent with headphones. Multiple vents if Lev wishestongue

So before we all leave for another mmo lets remind the freeps why SiN is the original and most feared tribe on Elendilmir!!!

{I'll let you come up with your own battlecriestongue}

I want my cake and eat it too..

I play PVE aswell as PvMP & have a RL.. (do we know our alphabet soup?)

I like to think of myself as some what HC even though I play one of the weakest classes (spider) & find myself having to adapt my style & being left out of groups unless I start an open noob raid to take a keep.. (I hate that even if I can make it work)

My main was Kuthor.. a wl.. who I can stratagise a bit better with.. I like gorilla warfare.. but adapted to the game.. what ever happened to reaver/wl gorilla groups? hell what happend to SIN groups.. I ask every time to get in one & rarely get a response on /k with 3-4 people on (in fellowships)

I think sin should run with the sinners more.. I'd find pvmp much better if I could rely on on a group when I get on for 10 min or 3 hours.. we have our own vent channel we should use it more..

Warg packs are nearly 100% efective at nuking 1 target. Best used when out numberd & you WANT to get freeps to leave.

2 WL's rest reavers in a fellow or raid 75% efective expecialy when along another group. & grate for keeping freeps with casualties on boath sides.

1 Spider &WL, Rest BA, 100% efective range tactical. Probably the best strike group around isolate & destroy 1 and 2 lone freeps, & move. Ranged CJ, ranged Debuf, slow & dps.

Those are the known old & some what new school gorilla groups.. but they only work if they are that groups..

I've been organising (or attempting to) SiN groups when ever Im on.
Im 100% behdind you Bro, this needs to happen, we have to push these Kin groups and move around the map. Standing there Zerg vs Zerg does nothing.

A tactic I've been noticing works a lot on El is hitting the big star freeps first. They tend to panic and run early. When they run the lowbies move with them leaving their backs exposed and making for easier kills.

Thanks for the post Spin, just wanted to reinforce what I think your were getting at

1. Being hardcore is not the amount you play whether it be 2 hours a week or 50 hours it doesn’t matter
2. During these hard times grouping up with tribe members is a high priority
3. See someone login in kinchat, tell them where you’re at and throw them a invite ASAP
4. No problem with inviting non-tribe members into groups but choose wisely we all know who’s a team player

So if we’re going to be a bit exclusive about who in our groups how are we going to get new members? Well I was thinking we set aside 1 day every few weeks and we train up a few greens that are interested. Training will be done away from the main action if any is going on as it’s a lot easier to communicate when the action is less hectic even practicing on NPC can be beneficial.

One thing I’d like to focus on this month is timing. We need to focus on getting all on the one target in 3-4 seconds not 8-12 seconds.

e.g.

BA/Spider roots
Reavers rush in & BA/Spider dots
Wargs pounce
WL get into range and shout then retreats and heals as required
Reavers DS
90% of freeps should be dead or DF’d by now

We should be able to get all of this off in 3-4 seconds. Yes I know some of us might get stunned or rooted but stop your whining and down a pottongue

Also I’d like for most of our members to get to rank 3ish on every single class so we can mix and match classes as required. As Spin highlighted Warg packs can be 100% effective at nuking one target so being able to chop and change between different classes can be a huge advantage.

You mean I gotta level up my hound!?

"Guerrilla warfare is the unconventional warfare and combat with which small group combatants use mobile tactics (ambushes, raids, etc.) to combat a larger, less mobile formal army. The guerrilla army uses ambush (draw enemy forces to terrain unsuited to them) and mobility (advantage and surprise) in attacking vulnerable targets in enemy territory."

This is exactly what we did on Landroval and I think it'll work even better here due to the sheer number of freeps out there.

Sounds good to me. I'm a team player but I usually like to go solo. I am taking a short break right now and playing in PVE. The freeps and my webs just got me too frustrated. I'll be back this week or next and I'll be shooting for rank 8. Half way there already. My warg is almost to rank 5
----------------------------------------------------------------
Creeps:
SpittingSting = weaver ( rank 8 )
RazorSting = warg ( rank 5 )

Freeps:
Johnsono = Minstrel ( level 50 )
Johnorin = Minstrel ( level 48 )
Johnborn = Captain ( level 36 )

I feel badly that I have not been on Ancaslea more lately. I was looking forward to being on this weekend, but unfortunately rl intervened. I would really like to help in your efforts, and plan on being on Ancaslea more in the days to come. I worked on improving traits today when I was on and enjoyed going with you to take the keeps. I will be on again tomorow night for certain! Ummm battlecries, hmmmm can I borrow one from the Tick "Spoon!", or maybe the family motto given to me by great grandpapa "Death before dishonour" let me think on this, lol, this could prove fun ^^.

To reply to Spittingsting's post about solo that's 100% doable just look for cyan names instead of green dot's on your mini map, and get on vent, that goes for everyone who wants to solo, vent is the only way to communicate, ask who the main target assist is & target forward them. You don't HAVE to be in a group to act like a group. It just helps wink

More on gorilla warfare.. It's really hard to do it verbatim in lotro. It's geared for "Epic" battles. Spam this or that till it's dead get you're rewound & move on. You can use those tactics in taking keeps, make ambushes, and try and do mini raiding parties.

I think one of the key's to this would be ensuring that everyones "main" toon has all maps or at least up to good maps. Mobility is key to this "style" of warfare, and about the only tactical advantage that creeps truly have. One unfortunately I've never really taken advantage of cause who wants to group up for farming trees, drakes, & hobbits when the whole reason yer in pvmp is for PVP not PVE?

One of the most under looked aspect of pvp in this particular game is ambushes something a lot of sinner's us to do but seems to have dropped from the "norm". We used to drop behind the rocks in E-pass & put wargs & burrowed spiders in wait of one or 2 freeps to squish.. then move to the back wall befor the trees to HH & lay in wait their, Then to izen dropped at groth entrance to catch a miner.

The only real gorilla advantage we can take is to use the landscape when using wargs/reavers & short ranged classes to draw in archers. Their's no lines of communication to cut, supply lines to brake, or other such over looked aspects of gameplay that exist in games like CC, and StarCraft. Still think spiders should have a move meant boost on rough land &/or climb walls & other obstacles, but anyways.

Exact kill tactics work best when practiced, as do ambushes, & even if someone is lacking in learning the tactics you can use them as bait or the suicidal distraction that gets two or 3 kills in return.

One of the reasons I loved playing Kuthor was to run through the armada of freeps while those on vent would call and nuke 3 or 4 people with the whole mass of them FFing him.. I'll die happily for 3 kills on him.. just want my stars for every boost I can get on spin wink

Another thing when running in groups we should get in SIN channel, know the 1 or 2 target assists voices & when they say KILL TARGET you target froward or use raid assist ASAP. The SIN channels is good for a few resons, less chatter, and more importantly it's got a PW so only SIN can get IN. No spies so our lines of communication have less chance of being compromised.

Lastly, it's a game.. have fun.. don't over think it.. unless that's fun wink
